Outgoing Lawrence Co. officials honored

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Lawrence County commissioners spent their last meeting of the year today honoring elected officials and others.

They presented proclamations to outgoing county commissioner Ed Fosnaught, a 12-year veteran, Controller Mary Ann Reiter and Treasurer Ron Patrick. Reiter, who also has served 12 years, lost her bid for the job in this last election, and Patrick, who was appointed treasurer nine months ago by the governor, did not seek the position again.

They also honored Phenton Schuffert, who is retiring as director of data services after 27 years. Michael A. Nard of New Castle was honored for his 90th birthday on Dec. 24. Nard is a violin and drum teacher whose pupils perform at nursing homes throughout the county.

Commissioners also re-appointed Dennis Alduk to the county redevelopment authority.
