PARTY FOR VLAD Details

When: From 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Where: Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road (Route 62), Canfield.

Why: Those who have helped or want to help Vlad Makarov will have the opportunity to meet the Russian teen.

Other details: The To Russia with Love volunteer mission team arranged for Vlad, who lives at an orphanage, to make the trip to the United States to be fitted for prosthetic legs. The mission team involves members of area churches and other volunteers who visit orphanages in Russia, where they usually do a work project and take various gifts including school supplies, clothes and personal items.
