Eagle award ceremony

Jerry Ferrell, 17, son of Jerry and Debbie Ferrell, Millcreek Boulevard, Boardman, received his Eagle Scout Award at a court-of-honor ceremony at St. Michael Church in Canfield.

He began his scouting career with Cub Scout Pack 22 Den 2 in 1999, where he received the Pavuli Dei and Arrow of Light awards.

He became a member of Troop 115 Great Western Reserve Council in Canfield in 2002. Ed Hahn and Andy Welsh are his scoutmasters.

Jerry has held the offices of patrol leader, quartermaster, assist senior patrol leader and earned 26 merit badges. He also has earned special awards of Scout of the Week, Order of the Arrow, and Ad Altare Dei.

Jerry is a junior at Boardman High School and a member of its golf team. He also is a member of St. Stanislaus Church, where he is an altar server and member of the youth ministry.

LAWYERS

Sworn in by high court

Jason Despetorich has been sworn in as a lawyer by the Ohio Supreme Court after passing the Ohio State Bar Examination. He has opened a private practice in Columbus.

Atty. Despetorich received his juris doctorate degree in May from Thomas Cooley Law School and his bachelor’s degree in political science in 2004 from the University of Toledo.

He graduated from Boardman High School in 2000.

He is the son of George and Dianne Despetorich of Boardman, and is the grandson of George and Delores Gulu of Campbell.
