Board officers elected for
Better Business Bureau

YOUNGSTOWN — Keith Downard was elected chairman of the Better Business Bureau board of directors for 2008. Other officers will be: Frank Dixon of Cohen & Co., vice chairman; Thomas Hutch, president of Aerolite Extrusion, vice chairman; Barbara Kolesar, chief financial officer of Envelope 1, treasurer; Daryl Morrison, area manager of Time Warner Cable, secretary. Bruce Zoldan, president of B.J. Alan Fireworks, will serve as immediate past chairman. Christopher Newman, a partner at Henderson, Covington, Messenger, Newman & Thomas Co., was re-elected as counsel.

Elected as directors were Jerry Brown, director of business development at A.V.I. Foodsystems; Michael Senchak, chief executive of Mahoning Valley Hospital; and Andy Detesco, vice president of James & Sons.

Aqua Pennsylvania buys
Crawford County system

SHARON, Pa. — Aqua Pennsylvania has acquired Lakeside Acres Water Co., which serves 525 people in Sadsbury Township in Crawford County. The price was $225,000.

The Lakeside system is adjacent to Aqua’s Oakland Beach system, which Aqua bought in 2005.

“We look forward to other growth opportunities in this region,” said Walter Pishkur, president of local Aqua operations. They are part of Aqua America, which is based near Philadelphia and is the largest publicly traded water utility in the country.
