Newton Falls man indicted on 3 counts of life rape of girl, 11

WARREN — A 30-year-old Newton Falls man has been indicted on three counts of life rape involving an 11-year-old girl.

During his arraignment Thursday, Edward M. Logan pleaded innocent to the charges before Judge John M. Stuard of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, who set bail at $200,000.

An assistant county prosecutor said Logan is accused of committing the rapes between summer of 2007 and Dec. 11. Each charge carries a possible penalty of life in prison with parole eligibility after 10 years.

His first pretrial hearing is set for Jan. 8 before Judge Andrew Logan.
