Walsh 98, Eastern University 89

HONOLULU, Hawaii — Eder Araujo and Brandon Weems led Walsh (10-2) to a 98-89 come-from-behind win over Eastern University (4-4) at the Hoop-n-Surf Classic. Walsh trailed by nine points late in the first half, before they rallied with six straight points to trail 49-46 at the break. Araujo led the Cavs with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Weems matched the effort with 16 points against Eastern. He also dished out 10 assists. Josh Johnson (Warren Harding) tallied 13 points and five rebounds.

WOMEN

Allegheny 65, Westminster 60

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — After winning its first six games, Westminster lost its second straight game. Senior guard/forward Emilee Ackerman led Westminster with a game-high 27 points on 9-14 shooting from the floor. Ackerman, who has scored 20 points or more in her last seven games, also grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. After trailing 31-24 at halftime, Westminster (6-2) fell behind by as many as 11 points (35-24) with 16:21 remaining in the game. Less than seven minutes later, the Titans tied the game 43-43. Westminster then trailed by one point on four occasions down the stretch but could not grab the lead. Down by three points with 38 seconds remaining, Ackerman missed a lay-up and the Gators were able to convert two Stephanie Wolf foul shots at the other end. Westminster shot 42.9 percent (21-49) from the field compared to the Gators at 42.3 percent (22-52).
