A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman:

POLAND

Dec. 15

Recovered property: A 1997 Mercury Tracer stolen from a Hamilton Avenue man was in a crash in Campbell and recovered in that city.

BOARDMAN

Dec. 14

Theft: Police arrested a 35-year-old Youngstown woman on a theft charge after five DVDs valued at a total of $69.20 were stolen from Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave.

Criminal damaging: A woman in the 300 block of Shields Road found a broken rear window to her vehicle, resulting in a $200 damage estimate.

Arrest: While responding to two vehicular accidents near South Avenue, authorities arrested a Boardman man, 30, on two counts of leaving the scene of an accident and one count each of aggravated vehicular assault, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, driving under suspension and operating a vehicle while impaired. Witnesses told police the man tried to flee from the accidents, in one of which a Struthers woman suffered a serious leg injury, among other wounds.

Assault: An employee with a South Avenue restaurant alleged a co-worker grabbed the accuser by the arms and pushed him into a wall.

Theft: A Youngstown woman discovered a check missing from her vehicle after leaving a Boardman-Canfield Road business.

Theft: More than $14 worth of health and beauty products was stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive. Charged with theft were a girl, 17, and a man, 18, both of Youngstown.

Identity theft: A Parkland Avenue woman told police a Wetumka, Okla., company notified her via mail that a computer containing her account information had been stolen from the business.

Theft: A New Middletown man noticed two drills, hand tools and a screw box missing from a van while at a Boardman-Poland Road store.

Theft: A Campbell woman, 45, was charged after being accused of stealing four articles of clothing from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft/forgery: A New Waterford woman told police that while at a Doral Drive business, her purse had been stolen. Numerous checks totaling about $1,088 were written at another store nearby, she said.

Dec. 15

Theft: A $600 chair was removed from the lobby to an apartment complex in the 7000 block of West Boulevard.

Auto theft: A Salem man reported his wife’s 1988 Chevrolet stolen while at a South Avenue business.

Theft/misuse of a credit card: A Poland man discovered a $1,239 unauthorized charge to his credit card while at a Market Street car dealership.

Theft: An undisclosed amount of money was missing from a register at Hickory Farms in the Southern Park Mall.

Dec. 16

Menacing: Officers charged a 45-year-old Youngstown man with menacing after a Warren man reported being threatened with physical harm at a Doral Drive business.

Burglary: A Huntington Drive woman reported 12 Christmas ornaments missing after someone entered her home.

Theft: A motorist pumped $31.36 worth of gasoline and left a BP station, 310 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying.

Theft: Someone drove away from a Shell True North station, 1510 Boardman-Canfield Road, and failed to pay for $5 worth of gasoline.

Truck theft: A Berlin Center man came out of the Southern Park Mall and noticed his 2005 Dodge truck missing.

Dec. 17

Theft: Fifteen video games worth a total of $278 were stolen from Wal-Mart, and nine were recovered.

Theft: A Southern Boulevard man told police he paid $340 online for a cell phone, but received delivery of an empty box.

Theft: A $100 communications headset was taken from Sprint, 430 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A Transfer, Pa., woman at a Windham Court business discovered a $217.74 unauthorized charge to her credit account was made from a Southern Park Mall store.

Robbery: A Girard man, 42, was taken into custody by police near McClurg Road and charged after a worker for Sears in the Southern Park Mall reported a robbery in which $521 worth of merchandise had been stolen.

Domestic violence: A 23-year-old Boardman woman was charged after her father reported a situation at the Southern Park Mall. The man was not hurt.

Theft: Two Youngstown women, 45 and 50, were charged after three perfume sets were stolen from Sears. One of the women also was charged with obstructing official business.

Theft: A Southwoods Drive woman reported a $500, 14-karat gold ring stolen from her residence.

Dec. 18

Theft: A driver failed to pay for $18.25 of gasoline before leaving a BP station, 310 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: Money and checks were stolen from Paul’s Tires and Smoke Shop, 4852 Southern Blvd.

Burglary: A woman in the 200 block of Oakley Avenue found out her home had been entered through the front door, and that $1,150 was taken.

Burglary: A Huntington Drive woman suspected a duplicate key may have been used to enter her apartment. Stolen was a Christmas ornament and other small items.

Theft: An employee with Boardman Township Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road, discovered the theft of a $400 Christmas ornament display.

Dec. 19

Forgery: Police picked up a 27-year-old Boardman man at the Struthers City Jail on a felony charge of forgery. Earlier, a worker with Cigarette Outlet, 6009 South Ave., reported three fraudulent checks with invalid account numbers were returned.

Theft: A 30-year-old woman and a man, 42, both of Youngstown, faced felony theft charges after $603.48 worth of clothing was stolen from Macy’s.

Bad check: A Youngstown man, 34, faced one felony count of passing bad checks. He was accused of passing a phony $500 travelers check at Macy’s.

Theft: A 40-year-old Campbell woman wanted on a felony charge of theft from that city was picked up near Shady Run Road and Midlothian Boulevard.

Theft: A Poland woman reported the theft of a $5,000 wristwatch while at the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A front license plate was removed from a vehicle at the Southern Park Mall.

Breaking and entering: Someone kicked open a basement door to a Sheban Drive residence before stealing copper piping and drywall material.

Bad check: Officers charged a 22-year-old Youngstown woman with passing bad checks and obstructing official business after a phony travelers check was passed at Macy’s.
