HUBBARD
Dec. 14
Auto theft: A man reported his vehicle stolen while at a North Main Street business.
Domestic violence: Police filed charges against a Hubbard man after a First Street woman alleged he threatened to harm her and throw her out of the residence.
Damage: Police received a report of a group of males who broke a lock to a gate near a football field off Liberty Street.
Dec. 15
Theft: A woman in the 300 block of Rebecca Avenue reported the theft of a Christmas tree from her yard.
Theft: A woman was detained by store personnel after being accused of stealing from Devine’s Shop ‘n’ Save, 529 N. Main St.
Arrest: After responding to a domestic situation at a Saul Drive home, police arrested a man, no information given, on charges of disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
Dec. 16
Menacing: A Hubbard woman reported a man walked past her residence and threatened to shoot at the home.
Dec. 17
Recovered property: A stolen license plate was found on a maintenance cart at a Youngstown-Hubbard Road apartment complex.
LIBERTY
Dec. 14
Breaking and entering: Police discovered a window had been smashed at Liberty Community Church, 1729 Tibbetts-Wick Road, and that the perpetrator kicked in an office door and ransacked the office. It was unknown if anything was missing.
Theft: A worker for Penske Truck Rental, 5925 Belmont Ave., reported a 20-year-old Youngstown woman rented but failed to return a vehicle.
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive found a broken rear window to her apartment. Damage was estimated at $100.
Dec. 15
Bad checks: A Salem woman, 30, faced charges of passing bad checks and forgery after an employee of Home Savings Bank, 3500 Belmont Ave., reported someone tried to pass two stolen checks totaling $800. The woman admitted forging her boyfriend’s name on the checks, police said.
Theft: A man left Denny’s Restaurant, 4020 Belmont Ave., without paying his $10 food bill.
Theft: A New Springfield man, 41, was charged after being accused of taking a beverage from a BP gas station, 2703 Belmont Ave.
Theft/recovered property: A 1996 Plymouth vehicle was found in Youngstown after a Tuttle Drive woman had accused a 27-year-old man of taking it. She also reported $1,500 missing from her purse.
Dec. 16
Drugs: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue led to a 60-year-old Girard man being charged with trafficking in drugs as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal tools when, officers said, they found four individually wrapped rocks of suspected crack cocaine, a suspected crack pipe and a digital scale. Another Girard man, 49, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle while impaired.
Criminal damaging: A man in the 5700 block of Logan Arms Drive said someone tossed eggs at his home.
Assault: An Austintown man told officers another man punched him twice in the mouth for no apparent reason while at a Belmont Avenue eatery.
Dec. 17
Theft: A worker for the Tallyho-tel, 4249 Belmont Ave., reported a $600 TV stolen from a room.
GIRARD
Dec. 15
Fraud: An Idaho Avenue man discovered a negative balance to his account and learned someone had made $1,600 worth of fraudulent charges to his debit card via the Internet.
Criminal damaging: A Morris Avenue woman returned to her home and saw that a screen had been pushed out of a front window. No entry was made, however.
Dec. 16
Assault: A McDonald man alleged his ex-father-in-law, 49, grabbed his coat collar during an argument in the 100 block of S. Market Street.
Dec. 17
Theft: Someone entered the basement to an East Liberty Street duplex and took food from a freezer.
Theft by deception: A worker for The Other Place, 20 S. State St., told police someone posing as an inspector for a fire extinguishing company charged $45 for an inspection. The business gave the imposter the money, but later learned the company had never authorized anyone for the task.
Theft/criminal damaging: A South Randolph Street woman suspected a man of taking $15 from her residence, and of punching a hole through a door.
Felonious assault: A Jones Court man sought medical treatment after alleging his girlfriend, 36, stabbed him when she was intoxicated. He had superficial wounds, and the woman was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired.
Dec. 18
Breaking and entering: A worker with Commercial Truck & Trailer Inc., 313 N. State St., noticed a lock had been cut from a fenced-in area. Stolen were a trailer and two four-wheel vehicles.
Breaking and entering: A man in the 900 block of North State Street discovered someone had broken into his garage before removing a laptop computer and a camera. The loss came to $3,400.
