Reward offered for information on suspect in Farrell shooting
FARRELL, Pa. — Crime Solvers of Mercer County is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for any assistance finding Brian Burks, an 18-year-old Sharon man wanted in a shooting Saturday.
Burks is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall, about 180 pounds with a slender build. His last known address was 839 Ravine Place, Sharon.
He is wanted by the Southwest Mercer County Regional Police in Saturday’s fatal shooting of Prince Butler, 21, of George Street, Sharon.
Police said Burks and Butler were visiting a Hamilton Avenue home when a brief argument ensued. Police said Burks shot at Butler in the living room and then followed him into the basement where Butler was shot twice in the bathroom.
Crime Solvers is a nonprofit organization started several years ago by area businesses and had been discontinued about three years ago. It was recently revived by the board of directors.
