KEEPING UP WITH … How local NFL players fared Sunday
Jeff Wilkins (Fitch/YSU) — Wilkins converted two extra points and was 0-for-1 on field goals in the Rams’ 33-14 loss to the Packers. Wilkins was short on a 48-yard field goal attempt early in the fourth quarter. This season Wilkins is 21-for-21 on extra points and 21-of-29 on field goals for 84 points.
Isaac Smolko (Springfield) — The Jaguars tight end and former Penn State standout played on special teams but did not record a tackle in the Jaguars’ 29-22 win over the Steelers.
Anthony Smith (Hubbard) — The former Syracuse standout started at free safety in Pittsburgh’s 29-22 loss. Smith intercepted one pass and returned it 50 yards to the Jacksonville 12. The interception set up an 11-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Hines Ward with 13:16 left in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to 22-14. Smith made eight tackles (four solos) and had one pass defensed.
Brad Smith (Chaney) — The former Missouri standout started at wide receiver and also saw time at quarterback in the Jets’ 20-10 loss to the Patriots. Smith did not catch a pass, but carried three times for 10 yards and was 0-for-1 passing.
Marlin Jackson (Sharon) — The former Michigan standout started at right cornerback in the Colts’ 21-14 win over the Raiders. Jackson recorded four tackles (all solos).
Prescott Burgess (Warren) — The former Michigan standout from Harding remains on the Ravens’ injured reserve list with a quadriceps injury.
