Mercer County (Pa.) Common Pleas judges recently sentenced the following:

Omar McCurdy, 20, of Fruit Avenue, Farrell, was resentenced to one month to one year in jail for theft of services, a misdemeanor. McCurdy had been placed on probation for the offense in Nov. 2006, but violated his probation. In May 2006, he reconnected a utility meter on the side of his house on Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, and used $117 worth of electricity after Penn Power had disconnected it for failure to pay a past due balance.

Cory Odem, 19, of Prospect Street, Sharon, was sentenced to one month to one year in jail for simple assault. He choked and punched a woman in the face April 27, 2007, at a Hermitage apartment. She suffered a lump on her forehead.
