“Holiday With the Stars” (5 p.m., ABC): A look back at the year in entertainment, plus celebrities’ favorite holiday memories.
“The Best Trip Ever” (8 p.m. Nickelodeon): “Unfabulous,” the hit sitcom starring Emma Roberts, hits the high seas with this made-for-TV movie.
“Survivor: China” (8 p.m., CBS): The bickering and backstabbing is almost over on “Survivor: China” as the reality franchise is set to crown its 15th winner. By now you know the routine: First comes the bloated buildup, the wistful reminiscing and then the closing arguments before a grouchy jury. Oh, and don’t forget the reunion show afterward.
“Dexter” (9 p.m., Showtime): After two seasons of tension-filled drama, we continue to be fascinated by Michael C. Hall’s extraordinary performance as a detached serial killer who targets evildoers. Creepy, cool, shrewd and even kind of funny, his Dexter is one of prime time’s most intriguing characters. The season-ender finds our slippery protagonist working extra hard to keep himself from being identified by Miami police as the Bay Harbor Butcher. That means getting to the remote cabin where he’s holding Doaks captive before the cops do. Can he pull it off — or will he finally have to answer for his deplorable deeds? No matter what, we’re riveted.
“Extras: The Extra Special Series Finale” (9 p.m., HBO): When the HBO comedy series “Extras” began two seasons ago, Andy Millman was a lowly movie extra constantly obsessing about stardom. Now he’s the star of a sitcom hit. But he’s not satisfied. He not only wants fame, he wants respect. “I want to be associated with credible stuff,” Andy tells his bumbling agent, Darren Lamb, in “Extras: The Extra Special Series Finale.” In this 80-minute wrap-up, the petulant Andy fires his agent (Stephen Merchant) and mistreats his best friend (and former fellow extra), Maggie (Ashley Jensen). Will he embrace his good fortune on this dumb but popular comedy called “When the Whistle Blows”? Or will he throw it all away? As usual, Ricky Gervais is brilliant as Andy, and the writing (by Gervais and his series co-creator, Merchant) sparkles.
“Holiday Windows 2007” (9 p.m., HGTV): This special spotlights magical store displays from Manhattan and beyond — minus the crowds.
