Man stable after stabbing during robbery


YOUNGSTOWN — A city man was in stable condition in St. Elizabeth Health Center on Friday night after being stabbed.

Police said Ricardo Wilson, 23, was walking northbound in Market Street at 1:16 p.m. Friday when he was approached by a man asking for money.

When the victim said he had no money, a struggled ensued. The other man pulled a knife, police said.

Wilson was able to make it to a nearby home for help. Police said he suffered a stab wound to his right side.

The robber is described as a white man in his mid-20s, 6 foot, 2 inches tall, about 165 pounds and with brown hair. The man was wearing a black coat and a scarf or warmer over his mouth and nose, police said.
