Man sought in Farrell, Pa. homicide

FARRELL — Police said an argument at a Hamilton Avenue home ended with the shooting death of a George Street man.

Prince Butler, 21, of 209 George St., was fatally wounded around 1:50 p.m. Saturday while visiting at 510 Hamilton Ave., police said.

He got into a brief argument with Brian Burks of Sharon, who was also visiting the home, and Burks is accused of firing a small caliber handgun several times at Butler in the living room, police said.

Butler fled to the basement with Burks in pursuit and Burks shot Butler twice in a bathroom there, police said.

Burks then fled the scene, and a warrant charging him with homicide has been issued. The Mercer County District Attorney’s office is assisting in the investigation.
