Community programs announced
YOUNGSTOWN — Community building organization Warriors Inc. is introducing a new round of programming:
UThe group will host “live mike” night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 28 at Eagle Heights Academy. Individual and group singing acts, bands, rappers, dancers, instrumentalists, comedians dramatics, story-tellers and poets are invited to perform.
U Students interested in improving their writing skills are invited to take part in a workshop. The workshop will feature techniques in journalism and creative writing, designed to prepare students for writing careers.
U Beginning computer classes will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays for the next five weeks.
U Mentoring services are also being offered to youth ages 9 to 21 years.
In addition, Warriors Inc. is seeking volunteers:
Adults ages 22 and older are needed to mentor youth and young adults. The group is seeking professionals to talk about their career to youth from the community, as well. Motivational speakers are also needed for 15-minute sessions.
The group is also requesting donated exercise and weight-training equipment.
