Rescue Mission to accept donation from Juniorettes

YOUNGSTOWN — Members of the Boardman/Poland Juniorettes will visit the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, 962 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., at 4 p.m. Friday to present a donation from their 2007 fundraising efforts to Jim Echement, development director for the mission.

The group raised the money by sponsoring a bake sale at Wal-Mart and a used book sale at the Prince of Peace Lutheran church in Poland.

Affiliated with the Boardman/Poland Junior Women’s League, the group of young women range in age from 14 to 18. The student volunteers, led by their president, Kirsten Weaver, are under the adult leadership of adviser Yvonne Ford and co-leader Debbie Weaver.
