Youngstown Mayor Jay Williams will talk today with Louie Free, Vindy.com's news radio partner, about his second year in office and the year ahead.

Williams' appearance comes just days after his wife's entreaty to the city's black community to work to halt the violence that is gripping the city.

Sonja Williams' remarks came Friday during a speech at the Jabali African Cultural Celebration at Youngstown State University, where she works.

She said her husband has responded to the “systemic cycle of violence” permeating Youngstown and is taking concerted efforts to stop it. “We must not quit,” she told the crowd.
