Recommendations

The District 6 Public Works Integrating Committee met Wednesday and made recommendations for Mahoning and Trumbull County projects to receive state funding. State Capital Improvement Program, or SCIP, grants and loans, are for water, sewer, road and bridge projects while Local Transportation Improvement Program, LTIP, projects are strictly for roads and bridge projects.

SCIP GRANTS

Hubbard City: Meadowland and Falcon storm sewer improvements, $49,962.

Newton Falls: Maple Street sewer separation, $100,000.

Struthers: Waste treatment plant improvements, phase five, $136,500.

Canfield Township: Indian Run storm water management project, phase four, $98,670.

Trumbull County Planning Commission: North River Road sanitary sewer project, $350,000.

Youngstown: Marshall Street/Oak Hill combination sewer separation project, $440,700.

Lordstown: Goldner Lane reconstruction and sanitary sewer installation, $149,999.

Mahoning Valley Sanitary District: Distribution and plant valves, gates and metering system improvement, $350,000.

Howland Township: Venice Heights watershed improvements, phase two, $72,450.

Poland Village: Island Drive storm water management project, phase one, $48,772.

Niles: Stevens Park watershed storm sewer improvements, phase two, $334,465.

Bubble projects, or those that will be funded either when this year’s projects that scored higher come in below the cost estimate, or from next year’s allocation:

Canfield City: northeast storm water management, phase three, $345,000.

Trumbull County Planning Commission: Bolindale sanitary sewer, $380,000.

Southington: Countyline turnpike road resurfacing project, $49,935.

Sebring: Johnson Road sanitary sewer improvements, $269,523.

Cortland: Willow Park elevated tank replacement, $878,000.

Jackson Township: Gault Road/Blott Road storm water management project, $120,049.

LTIP GRANTS

Warren City: East Market Street reconstruction, $487,600.

Trumbull County Engineer: 2008 road improvement program, $800,000.

Mahoning County Engineer: 2008 infrastructure program, $950,000.

Johnson Township: Stoddard Hayes Road culvert replacement, $25,272.

Hubbard Township: road improvement program, $45,873.

Cortland: Main Street resurfacing and rehabilitation, $100,000.

LTIP BUBBLE

Liberty: Goldie Road improvements, $148,782.

Braceville: Shanks Phalanx Road safety upgrade phase two, $48,833.

Green: New Albany Road safety upgrade, phase one, $49,878.

Champion: Airport Road resurfacing project phase two, $49,939.

Mesopotamia: Bundysburg Road resurfacing, $49,964.

Vienna: Smith Stewart resurfacing, $44,054.

Bazetta: Howland Wilson Road improvement phase one, $49,601.

Trumbull County Engineer: Shannon Road school safety project, $288,924.

SMALL GOVERNMENT PROJECTS

These projects will be submitted to the state where it will be determined which will be funded:

New Middletown: Stacy Drive roadway and driveway improvements, $49,611.

Lowellville: Wood Street safety upgrade phase two, $99,120.

Craig Beach: Idylwild Avenue storm drainage improvements phase two, $49,800.

Bristol: Housel-Craft Road resurfacing, $81,410.

Fowler: Henn Hyde Road upgrade, $57,683.

Greene: Durst Colebrook Road safety upgrade, $82,326.

Vernon: Rutledge Transfer Road safety upgrade, $114,548.

Smith: Calla Road safety upgrade, $140,280.

Kinsman: Weber Cole Road safety upgrade, $163,279.

Beloit: Main Street storm sewer improvements, $133,894.

REVOLVING LOAN PROGRAM

Mahoning County Sanitary Engineer: Poland 36-inch interceptor/state Route 616 rehabilitation, $667,054.

Mahoning County Engineer: Bailey Road rehabilitation, $520,000.
