ASLEEP | At a glance

All five members of the band have put aside their other pursuits to focus on their music career with Asleep. Here are brief biographies of each member:

Todd Kaden, vocals: A Poland High School graduate who turned down a full scholarship to the Juilliard School of Music in order to pursue a career in rock music. Was in the band Urbane prior to Asleep.

Jon Dean, guitar: A Mooney High School graduate, and former member of the band Alias X. A biochemistry major at Youngstown State University with two semesters to go, he set aside school when Asleep got a record deal with independent label Fractured Transmitter.

Jeremy Hanhold, bass: A graduate of Mooney High School with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from YSU. He and Dean have been in a number of bands together, including Alias X.

Larry Serb, keyboards: A graduate of Hickory High School in Hermitage, he attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, where he was on the baseball team. Another former member of Alias X.

Dave Ardale, drums: A graduate of Struthers High School, he was in the U.S. Army Reserve and had once played in a military band. Attended YSU.
