Television: Golf (Thursday-Friday, 3-6 p.m., 9 p.m.-midnight) and NBC (Saturday-Sunday, 3-6 p.m.).

Field: Mark Calcavecchia, Paul Casey, Fred Couples, Luke Donald, Niclas Fasth, Jim Furyk, Zach Johnson, Padraig Harrington, Colin Montgomerie, Justin Rose, Rory Sabbatini, Vijay Singh, Henrik Stenson, Steve Stricker, Brett Wetterich,Tiger Woods.

Last year: Tournament host Tiger Woods won the event for the third time, closing with a 66 for a four-stroke victory over Geoff Ogilvy. Woods also won in 2001 and 2004.

Last week: Calcavecchia and Woody Austin won the Merrill Lynch Shootout in Naples, Fla., beating tournament host Greg Norman and Bubba Watson by a stroke on Austin’s 35-foot birdie putt on the final hole.

Course: The Australian Golf Club (7,231 yards, par 72).

Purse: $1.54 million. Winner’s share: $231,000.

Television: None.

Last year: Australia’s John Senden won at Royal Sydney, birdieing the final hole for a 7-under 65 and a one-stroke victory over countryman Geoff Ogilvy.

Last week: Australia’s Peter Lonard won the Australian PGA for the third time, closing with a 7-under 65 for a three-stroke victory in Coolum. Lonard also won in 2004 after sharing the 2002 title with Jarrod Moseley when darkness forced officials to stop play after the first hole of a playoff.
