ROAD REPAIRS Spending


Examples of Ohio communities’ use of taxpayer dollars over five years to repair and improve roads near large farms:

Clark County: Spent $650,000 to upgrade two roads leading to two large dairy farms, with one dairy chipping in $65,000.

Mercer County: Spent about $600,000 as part of an upgrade of more than 3.5 miles of roads around a large dairy.

Putnam County: Palmer Township is spending $500,000 to upgrade 2.5 miles of road due to a large dairy farm.

Madison County: An estimated $250,000 to $300,000 will be spent this summer to rebuild a road used by two large dairies.

Darke County: Spent $479,000, including $225,000 in state funds, to upgrade 1.8 miles of a road for a large egg farm.
