Veterinarian accused of crating son

BOARDMAN — A Sylvia Lane man, who works as a veterinarian, is expected in court today, accused of keeping his 4-year-old son in a dog crate.

Police arrested Joseph Mullarkey, 39, Monday afternoon as he returned from lunch to work at the Ebert Animal Hospital, Southern Boulevard. Mullarkey is charged with felony child endangering.

Sgt. Chuck Hillman said that Mullarkey’s wife came to the police station Friday to report the incident, which occurred in late November.
