KEEPING UP WITH … How local NFL players fared Sunday


Jeff Wilkins (Fitch/YSU) — Wilkins converted an extra point and was 1-for-2 on field goals in the Rams’ 19-10 loss to the Bengals. Wilkins missed wide right on a 40-yard attempt in the second quarter but converted one from 50 yards in the fourth quarter that made it 16-10. This season Wilkins is 19-for-19 on extra points and 21-of-28 on field goals for 82 points.

Isaac Smolko (Springfield) — The Jaguars tight end and former Penn State standout had one special teams tackle in Jacksonville’s 37-6 rout of the Panthers. Smolko also played offense and had one pass thrown to him, which was incomplete from quarterback David Garrard.

Anthony Smith (Hubbard) — The former Syracuse standout, who made news all week with his guarantee of a Steelers victory over the Patriots, started at free safety in Pittsburgh’s 34-13 loss. Smith finished with six tackles.

Brad Smith (Chaney) — The former Missouri standout started at wide receiver in the Jets’ 24-18 loss to the Browns. Smith finished with three catches for 27 yards, including a long of 14 yards, and returned a kickoff 15 yards. He and quarterback Kellen Clemens missed on a pair of long passes. Smith also got his hands on an onside kick the Jets recovered after scoring to close the score to 17-12.

Marlin Jackson (Sharon) — The former Michigan standout started at right cornerback in the Colts’ Sunday night game against the Ravens.

Prescott Burgess (Warren) — The former Michigan standout from Harding remains on the Ravens injured reserve with a quadriceps injury.
