FLYING Free rides

What: Young people ages 8 to 17 are eligible for free flights on a four-seat plane through the Experimental Aviation Association’s Young Eagle’s program.

When: Noon to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Where: New Castle Municipal Airport, Old Youngstown Road, New Castle.

Who: Jack Thompson of Grove City, a pilot since 1959, is offering the flights as part of his personal goal to have flown 1,000 youths by the end of March. The flights are about 15 to 20 minutes in length and the plane goes up about 1,000 feet.
