Boardman freshman charged with inducing panic

BOARDMAN — A freshman at Boardman High School was taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center after his arrest on charges of inducing panic and aggravated menacing.

He is accused of telling other students that he wanted to shoot up the school. School officials called police on Wednesday reporting that the boy, 16, of Melrose Avenue, had told other students that he wanted to “shoot up” the school but had to wait for a month for when he went to court so he could get his guns back.

The police report doesn’t give a specific reference to that court date.
