HUBBARD

Nov. 28

Assault: An employee of Hubbard High School, 350 Hall Ave., reported a fight between two students.

Nov. 30

Assault: A man told police he was jumped while at a West Liberty Street business.

Theft: A man in a blue Jeep left a Shell True North station, 204 W. Liberty St., without paying for gasoline.

Dec. 1

Theft: A motorist pumped gasoline and drove away from a Shell station without paying.

Theft: A license plate was removed from a vehicle at a business in the 800 block of North Main Street.

Theft: A worker for Dave’s Super Tire, 612 N. Main St., reported the theft of tires.

Attempted auto theft: Someone tried to steal a 1996 Buick at a North Main Street business.

LIBERTY

Nov. 30

Drugs: A traffic stop near Catherine Street led to the arrests of three Youngstown men, 20, 21 and 27, after police said they found two bags of suspected marijuana and a metal pipe with suspected marijuana residue. Two of the men were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, the third with drug abuse.

Possible breaking and entering: Someone smashed a front window at Dollar General, 4425 Logan Way, though it was undetermined if entry was made.

Burglary/assault: A Trumbull Court woman alleged a 47-year-old Youngstown man entered her home searching for his girlfriend and, upon finding her, pushed the girlfriend into a bathtub and slammed her head against a wall. The homeowner also said the man struck her.

Burglary: Someone entered a home in the 2100 block of Church Hill Road via a side door and took a firearm from a bedroom safe.

Theft: An employee with a Belmont Avenue business told officers a Cortland man, 30, claiming to be a police officer and collecting money as part of a fundraiser tricked him out of cash.

Assault: A Girard man trying to sell merchandise near a Belmont Avenue business alleged a 44-year-old man grabbed the accuser from behind and shoved him out through an entrance.

Burglary: Someone apparently entered a Lakeview Drive residence through an unlocked door before stealing a digital camera, an air compressor, a diamond pendant, a video game and cash.

Dec. 1

Criminal damaging: A Jefferson Street man accused his former girlfriend, 17, of using a key to damage the finish on his vehicle. An 8-inch scratch was found, police said.

Assault: A Harding Avenue woman told officers that as she retrieved her mail, two men grabbed her from behind and used a rubber stick to strike her in the left arm and on the back of her lower leg.

Theft/criminal damaging: A Northview Boulevard woman returned to her residence and discovered a filing cabinet had been pried open. Missing was a storage container.

Dec. 2

Domestic violence: A vehicle registration check near state Route 193 resulted in a 24-year-old Youngstown man’s being taken into custody when authorities learned the man was wanted on a warrant from that city charging him with the crime.

Theft: A Belmont Avenue woman alleged her son, 15, took a digital camera, a video game, jewelry and antique coins from her.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Colonial Drive woman suspected her former boyfriend of taking her 1995 Chevy Lumina.

Dec. 3

Theft: Police caught up to and arrested a 55-year-old Youngstown man on charges of theft and receiving stolen property after three packages of steaks and other groceries totaling $79.55 were taken from Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave.

Theft/criminal damaging: A man visiting a Mansell Drive residence discovered someone had entered his car, damaged its dashboard and removed compact discs, a backpack and other items.

Theft: A Mansell Drive man reported a $300 CD player was stolen from his vehicle.

GIRARD

Dec. 1

Arrest: Officers picked up a 60-year-old Leavittsburg man during a traffic stop near Liberty and State streets. He was wanted on a warrant and turned over to the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Department.

Dec. 3

Theft: A Youngstown man, 55, was charged after being accused of stealing $200 worth of meat products from Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave.
