Niles man indicted in slaying of his wife
A 59-year-old man is accused of heroin
possession.
WARREN — Daniel A. Leet has been indicted by a Trumbull County grand jury in the shotgun slaying of his wife outside their Niles home.
He was one of 27 people indicted Monday. They will be arraigned beginning at 2 p.m. next Tuesday before Judge John M. Stuard.
Leet, 29, is charged with aggravated murder with a firearm specification and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
He is accused of shooting his wife, Angela S. Court Leet, three times with a 12-gauge shotgun shortly after returning to their home at 1509 Difford Drive. They had been out for the evening of Nov. 24.
Police said neighbors told them they could hear the couple arguing and shots fired.
After the shots were fired, police said, a neighbor ran to the Leet home, tackled Leet and disarmed him. Leet suffered a broken ankle when he was taken down.
