Retired nurse files to run for Mahoning Commissioner

YOUNGSTOWN — A retired licensed practical nurse filed nominating petitions to challenge Mahoning County Commissioner John McNally IV in the March 4, 2008, Democratic primary.

This is the first time Mary “Roby” Lyden of Canfield, 62, is seeking public office.

McNally of Youngstown, 38, and Commissioner Anthony Traficanti of Poland, 41, are up for re-election next year and plan to run for a second four-year term.

Traficanti will also face opposition in the Democratic primary.

Eric C. Ungaro of Poland filed petitions with the county board of elections to run against Traficanti in the Democratic primary.
