Timeline of events for the three-week construction of the Bailing home on Shields Road in Canfield. Family members had their first look at their new four-bedroom home Saturday.
Oct. 22: Trees were removed from the property to make room for the new construction.
Oct. 23: The old structure was demolished and the basement was dug in preparation for the new home.
End of October: The team set the trusses for the new roof.
Nov. 5: Furnace installed, electrical work complete.
Nov. 6: Drywall hung throughout the house.
Nov. 7-8: Drywall finished and texture applied to walls and ceilings.
Nov. 9: Interior painting on all walls and ceilings.
Nov. 10-11: Cabinets hung, finished carpentry, ceramic tile in bathrooms installed, and exterior deck completed.
Nov. 12: Carpentry completed, landscaping done with shrubbery.
Nov. 13: Began installing hardwood floors.
Nov. 14: Bathroom vanities, countertops, shower doors and garage doors all installed.
Nov. 15: Painting of interior trim and doors, finish painting.
Nov. 16: Plumbing and lighting fixtures installed, appliances delivered and installed.
Nov. 17: Finished carpentry, finish painting.
Nov. 18: Finish painting still under way.
Nov. 19: Finish painting completed, door knobs installed, bathroom towel rack and fixtures hung.
Nov. 20: Driveway paved, final grade to yard, odds & ends, carpentry and electrical work completed.
