Terrapins roll easy against Buckeyes
No. 3 Maryland rolled 77-53 for its 10th straight victory.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Crystal Langhorne scored 17 points, Marissa Coleman added 14 and No. 3 Maryland beat 19th-ranked Ohio State 77-53 Friday night in the women’s Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
Laura Harper had 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds, and Kristi Toliver recorded 11 assists to help the Terrapins (10-0) became the first team in the country to reach double figures in victories. Four of those wins have come against ranked opponents.
Langhorne, a senior center, grabbed six rebounds to reach 966 for her career, two short of the school record held by Vicky Bullett. Langhorne has 44 points in three starts since returning from a sprained ankle that forced her to miss six of Maryland’s first seven games.
Jantel Lavender had 16 points and 14 rebounds for Ohio State (5-2). The Buckeyes went 21-for-71 from the floor (30 percent) and missed 15 of their 21 shots from 3-point range.
Langhorne and Harper each had two layups in an 8-2 spurt that increased Maryland’s 14-point halftime advantage to 47-27.
After Ohio State closed to 58-44, Langhorne made a layup, Harper hit a free throw and Marah Strickland scored in the lane to put the Terrapins ahead by 19 with 7:19 to play.
The Terrapins limited Ohio State to 31 percent shooting and forced 11 turnovers in going up 39-25 at the break.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tyler Smith scored 22 points to lead five Tennessee players in double figures, and the No. 11 Volunteers beat Louisiana-Lafayette 98-70 for their 22nd straight home victory.
