Day of celebration set at country club

WARREN — The women’s auxiliary group of Trumbull Country Club, 600 Golf Lane, has planned a celebration to take place Sept. 8 at the country club.

The event is titled “Down Memory Lane” to honor the founders and long-standing members of the club.

Current and past members have until Wednesday to make reservations by calling (330) 372-4024. The gala will include cocktails and appetizers at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and entertainment by Don DiSantis and his band.

Those attending are also invited to participate in a complimentary tennis round robin that day or a mixed golf outing that will begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.

The event will mark the history of TCC, which was conceived by a few pioneer businessmen in 1899. In 1915 the Golf Land Co. was formed and capitalized for $50,000 as the beginning of a private golf club, and construction of a nine-hole golf course and clubhouse began in 1916.
