Mahoning deputy charged with drunken driving

CANFIELD — A Mahoning County deputy sheriff has been charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by Canfield police.

Donald Belosic Jr., 34, of Canfield was in Mahoning County Area Court on Wednesday and pleaded innocent to the charge. A pretrial was scheduled for Oct. 10.

Belosic refused to be tested, records show. His automatic license suspension was stayed by Judge Scott D. Hunter.

Records show Belosic was charged with OVI on Saturday. Court records show that in January 2003, Belosic, who had been charged with OVI, pleaded no contest to a reduced charge and received one-year’s probation.
