Charges may be filed in Warren drug raid

WARREN — City police are conferring with the prosecutor to determine if charges will be filed as the result of a drug raid earlier this week at a heavily fortified house on the city’s Southwest Side.

Lt. Thomas Skoczylas, head of the police narcotics unit, said his officers, with the assistance of the Trumbull County Adult Probation Department, recovered several small bags of suspected marijuana packaged for sale Tuesday.

Surveillance cameras were attached to the outside of the house at 926 Swallow St. S.W. with monitors throughout the inside. Metal bars reinforced all the windows and doors.

During the investigation, agents seized guns and marijuana. The occupant is on probation to the probation department for attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Skoczylas said.
