GIRARD

Aug. 24

Theft: A Campbell man reported a cell phone, six compact discs, his wallet and an operator’s license stolen while in the 700 block of South State Street.

Theft: An Illinois Avenue man told police that someone staying at his residence took $200 from the man’s wallet as well as a cell phone.

Arrest: Police received a report of a female lying on the street near Smithsonian Street, after which they charged an 18-year-old Hubbard woman with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and underage consumption of alcohol.

Aug. 25

Criminal damaging: A Brookfield man was told that another man used a car jack to break a driver’s-side window to his truck in the 700 block of North State Street.

Theft: A worker for Burger King, 322 S. State St., noticed $20 missing from her purse.

Aug. 26

Domestic violence: Police charged a McDonald man, 22, after his girlfriend alleged the man struck her twice in the face and grabbed her throat during an argument on Elruth Court.

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on North State Street led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Girard man after police said they found a suspected metal marijuana pipe. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Theft: A man reported the theft of a $600 heat pump from his father’s residence in the 1000 block of Ward Avenue.

Theft: A Second Street woman reported a cash card, a stereo remote control device and a GameBoy system stolen from her vehicle.

Criminal damaging: A 38-year-old Girard man faced a criminal-damaging charge after police said he admitted using a knife to slash a tire on an East Wilson Avenue woman’s car.

Aug. 27

Breaking and entering: A Youngstown man preparing to move into a Market Street residence discovered a break-in. Two firearms and possibly other items were stolen.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Shawnee Drive man reported his daughter used his 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier to pick up a money order, but never returned.

Theft: An employee with Morgan Furniture Co., 160 Trumbull Ave., suspected a former worker of taking a dolly.

Theft: A New Castle, Pa., man reported the theft of a debit card from his car while in the 1000 block of South State Street. He later found $500 worth of fraudulent charges.

Aug. 28

Theft by deception: A woman found out someone obtained her brother-in-law’s personal information and used it to have electricity turned on at an Iowa Avenue home.

LIBERTY

Aug. 23

Theft: An Austintown man reported the theft of a $250 saw while in the 1000 block of Trumbull Avenue.

Theft: A man took two bags of tobacco from Smoker Friendly, 3814 Belmont Ave.

Theft/criminal damaging: A man in the 3100 block of Goleta Avenue found a window to his vehicle broken and its trunk open. Stolen were two speakers, an amplifier and a book of CDs, for a loss of $2,200.

Burglary: Nothing appeared to be missing after someone broke into a Trumbull Avenue home through a side window and ransacked the residence.

Assault: A Colonial Drive woman alleged an 18-year-old woman struck the accuser in the face as she sat on her front porch. The victim had a cut and blood stains on her clothing, police said.

Criminal damaging: A Goist Lane man returned to find damage to his vehicle’s wheel covers, trunk, hood ornaments, mirrors and doors.

Aug. 24

Fraud: A Tibbetts-Wick Road woman learned that someone used her credit card number to buy a $1,166 round-trip airline ticket and $60 worth of services.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Logan Gate Road man accused a 41-year-old woman of taking his 1991 Chevrolet Lumina while he slept.

Arrest: A Youngstown woman, 27, was turned over to Liberty police. She was wanted on a felony warrant from the township charging her with forgery.

Criminal damaging: A Marla Lane woman reported someone used a key to damage her vehicle’s passenger side, resulting in $500 damage.

Aug. 25

Burglary: The owner of a residence in the 700 block of Colonial Drive found the front door ajar before discovering that a laptop computer, 20 DVDs and a pair of work gloves were missing. The loss was estimated at $1,900.

Theft: A 48-year-old woman surrendered to authorities. She was wanted on a theft charge from the township.

Theft: A Canfield man, 25, surrendered to police and was charged with theft related to a situation at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex, 1620 Motor Inn Drive.

Aug. 26

Attempted burglary: A woman in the 4100 block of Logan Gate Road called authorities after someone pried open a screen window in an effort to gain entry.

Drug paraphernalia: After pulling over a vehicle on state Route 193, officers charged a Youngstown woman, 28, with possession of drug paraphernalia after saying she admitted a suspected crack pipe in a pack of cigarettes was hers. She also was wanted on a warrant charging her with the same crime.

Aug. 27

Assault: A Pleasant Valley Road man told officers two men threw him to the ground and kicked him in the mouth during an argument.

Vandalism: Someone in a truck drove through and added ruts to a yard on Youngstown-Hubbard Road.
