Local songwriters hit big time

YOUNGSTOWN — When you call Darla Rae Perlozzi-Patterson’s home in Nashville, Tenn., and the answering machine picks up, you hear the Big & Rich song “Loud.”

In case you don’t get the connection: Perlozzi-Patterson co-wrote the country hit.

Earlier this year, the Struthers native teamed up with Kirsti Manna — a Poland native — in a song-writing partnership. They struck gold on their first try.
