CANFIELD — “That’s what we call perfect fair weather.”

The comment from Bev Fisher, the Canfield Fair manager, came after being told of the weather forecast for the fair. The event opens Wednesday and runs through Monday.

“Weather plays a big part in getting people here,” she said. “We find it important, but beyond our control.”

It’s looking like Wednesday, opening day, may be the only possibility for uncomfortable weather at the fair, according to the National Weather Service.

Wednesday’s high temperature will be in the upper 80s or possibly 90 degrees.

There is a 30 percent to 40 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, said Mark Adams, a meteorologist with the weather service in Cleveland.

“We’re not looking for widespread rain on Wednesday and Thursday morning, if it rains at all,” he said.

There is no rain in the forecast between Thursday morning and the fair’s final day, Monday, Adams said.

The temperature starts to drop Wednesday night with a low in the mid-60s, he said.

On Thursday, the high should be in the upper 70s during the day and a low in the mid-50s that night, Adams said.

“There will be dry weather through Monday,” he said. “For the most part it will be comfortable.”

The highs from Friday to Monday will range from about 75 degrees to the lower 80s during the day, dropping into the lower 50s to about 60 at night, Adams said.
