Slippery Rock’s Anna Bixler handed out 145 assists and had 46 digs in her first collegiate action in the tournament.

Jen Blasko recorded 57 kills and 53 digs in the four matches for The Rock, while Anastasia Urbanik added 43 digs, 31 kills and 15 service aces.

Andrea Campbell had 42 kills and four digs; Brittany Spangler had 53 digs and Louise Schultz recorded 23 kills for SRU.

The Rock returns to action next weekend, when it will compete in the California U. of Pa. tournament. SRU will meet West Liberty State and Gannon on Friday and Northern Kentucky and West Virginia State on Saturday.

Women

Slippery Rock 4, East Stroudsburg 2 — Courtney Hoover and Meghan McGrath each scored a goal and had an assist in Sunday's 4-2 win on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium. Juliana Howell and Melisa Sharek each added a goal, while Alison Hindley picked up an assist. Rock goalie Lauren McManus recorded six saves in a complete-game effort as SRU outshot its guest by an 18-12 margin. The Rock enjoyed a 12-8 advantage in shots on goal.

Sharek converted a pass from Hoover into the game's first goal in the 10th minute of action before Hoover took a pass from McGrath and put it in the back of the net in the 33rd minute.

Howell's unassisted goal three minutes later gave SRU a 3-0 lead, which it carried into the intermission.

McGrath, off an assist from Hindley in the 68th minute, sandwiched a goal between two East Stroudsburg tallies to account for the final Rock point.
