HAPPY 104TH BIRTHDAY Mary Krecelic
Born: Aug. 27, 1903, in Pittsburgh.
Schooling: After losing her hearing at age 7 due to a bout of scarlet fever, she attended a school for the deaf in Pittsburgh. She learned sign language, studied ballet and learned to quilt and crochet. Then, she moved to the Youngstown area with her family
Married: George Krecelic in August 1920, and they moved to a farm in Poland, where she enjoyed caring for the farm animals. He died Nov. 17, 1946.
Children: Three. A daughter, Josephine Nonnemaker lives in Poland. A son, Nicholas, and daughter, Mary, are deceased.
Family: Three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Hobbies: Enjoys dancing and playing bingo.
Address: Has been a resident at Ivy Woods Manor in North Lima since 1997.
Celebrations: A party for family and friends will be held in her honor at 1 p.m. Monday at the manor.
