XCAMPBELL — An evening reception was held July 21 at the Byzantine Center at the Grove to honor Eric Gonzalez and his bride, the former Carmel Sturgiss, who were married at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Michael Swierz at St. Joseph the Provider Church.

After a honeymoon at Cancun, Mexico, the daughter of Pamella Sturgiss of Poland and the late David Sturgiss and the son of Roselyn and Enrique Gonzalez of Campbell live in Boardman.

Adorned with crystals and rhinestones, the bride’s white, strapless A-line gown featured a corseted back.

Honor attendants were Christina Lanterman, the bride’s aunt, and Jenna Sturgiss, her sister. Bridesmaids were Rebekah Sturgiss, her cousin; Lori and Jennifer Gonzalez, the groom’s sisters; and Abbey Viano. They wore sage-green gowns. Flower girl was Madisyn Lanterman, cousin of the bride.

Ralph Molina and Steve Santiago were best men, and groomsmen were David Sturgiss, the bride’s brother; Jeff Dechellis; Mickey Soroka; and Israel Maldonado. Ring bearers were Mark Lanterman Jr., the bride’s godson, and Jose Troncoso, the groom’s godson. Dennis Osman ushered.

The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in mild-moderate intervention at Youngstown State University and a master’s in education from Ashland University. She is an intervention specialist with Hubbard High School.

The groom, an assistant director of technology with Campbell City School District, graduated from YSU with a degree in computer information systems.
