“Inside 9/11” (7 p.m., National Geographic Channel): The channel’s previously aired special, which focuses on the events surrounding Sept. 11, gets a fresher perspective that includes news from the past year.
“Teen Choice Awards 2007” (8 p.m., Fox): It’s the awards show that dares to be different. Instead of metallic trophies, winners nab primo surf boards. And instead of typical “Best of” categories, you’ve got categories such as Choice Hottie, Choice Hissy Fit and Choice OMG! Moment. The nominees in the latter category are Paris Hilton’s time in the pokey, Lindsay Lohan’s rehab woes, Britney Spears’ shaved head, Sanjaya Malakar’s faux-mohawk and Dannielynn Smith’s paternity results. As usual, teens across America voted for their favorites from the worlds of movies, television, music, sports and fashion. Hilary Duff and Nick Cannon are your hosts.
“Big Love” (9 p.m., HBO): Premium cable’s resident polygamist (Bill Paxton) gets a visit from a surprise guest as Season 2 winds down.
“The Kill Point” (9 p.m., Spike TV): The six-week series starring John Leguizamo and Donnie Wahlberg wraps up.
“Army Wives” (10 p.m., Lifetime): “Army Wives” concludes its highly successful first season with a jarring discovery: A large amount of munitions are missing and the post is put on high alert. Believing it’s the work of terrorists, Michael orders Frank, Trevor and Chase to deploy immediately. 10 p.m., Lifetime.
“Against the Tide: The Battle for New Orleans” (10 p.m., CNBC): Two years after Katrina, the pace of recovery is all too slow for New Orleans homeowners. A new CNBC documentary, “Against the Tide: The Battle for New Orleans,” examines the business side of the New Orleans recovery effort as homeowners struggle to rebuild their lives from the foundation up. Among its stories: Correspondent Scott Cohn investigates how a federal program to assist in housing replacement is beset by a budget shortfall, inadequate staffing and computer malfunctions. And reporter Mary Thompson explores the decision of the Shell Oil Co. to return to New Orleans.
