60th anniversary to be observed by the Bartels

XYOUNGSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bartel, 1933 Cranbrook Drive, will be honored at a family dinner in observance of their 60th wedding anniversary.

Hosts for the celebration to be held at a later date will be their niece and her husband, Barbara and Dennis Matherly of Austintown.

The former Betty Bartell and Mr. Bartel were united in marriage June 14, 1947, at Woodland Avenue Lutheran Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Bartel worked at the counter for Houser’s Bakery in Youngstown.

Mr. Bartel, who is known as Bob, served with the Merchant Marines during World War II. He retired in 1983 from Exhibitors Service in Youngstown, where he was employed as a truck driver.
