Youngstown man arrested in Portage County

YOUNGSTOWN — A 27-year-old Youngstown man released from the Mahoning County jail about a week ago is in police custody in Portage County on a felony charge of receiving stolen property.

Brimfield Township police say Nicholas J. Boerio was spotted in a stolen car today entering a Wal-Mart. Police charged him inside the store while officers said he was using a stolen credit card.

Brimfield police say Boerio had other stolen credit cards in his possession when he was arrested. Other charges by Brimfield police are pending.

Boerio was being held in the Mahoning jail until overcrowding there led to his release Aug. 13, according to the sheriff’s department. Boerio was in jail on charges from Boardman police of receiving stolen property, misuse of a credit card and identity fraud.
