RESIDENCY RESTRICTIONS \ In 5 states


Some of the state laws banning sex offenders from living near areas where children gather:

Ohio: Barred from living within 1,000 feet of a school.

Kentucky: Can’t live within 1,000 feet of schools, playgrounds and other places where children gather.

Georgia: Prohibited from living, working or loitering within 1,000 feet of schools, churches, parks, gyms, swimming pools or school bus stops.

Oklahoma: Banned from living within 2,000 feet of a school, playground, park or licensed day-care facility.

Iowa: Offenders who have committed crimes against children can’t live within 2,000 feet of schools and child-care centers.
