XBOARDMAN — The wedding of Becky Skavenski, 12412 Unity Road, New Springfield, and Michael Stredni, 717 Sapp Road, Ravenna, was held at 4:30 p.m. July 14 at St. James Meeting House in Boardman Township Park. The Rev. Tony Kline presided.

After a reception at St. Mary Banquet Center, the couple left on honeymoon cruise to the Hawaiian islands. They live at the Ravenna address.

Parents of the bride are Debra Skavenski, of the New Springfield address, and William Skavenski Jr., 137 Wood St., East Palestine, and the groom’s parents are Mike and Nancy Stredni, 160 Runnemede Drive.

The bride’s white, strapless, A-line gown was embellished with embroidery and rhinestones and featured a train.

Wearing lilac gowns were the bride’s cousin and honor attendant, Tracy Bumgardner, and the bridesmaids, Megan Chalfant and the groom’s sister, Lisa Stredni. Junior bridesmaid was Ashley Riley, and flower girl was Megan Parish, cousins of the bride.

Tommy Skavenski, the bride’s brother, was best man, and groomsmen were John Riley, her cousin, and D.J. Kirtley.

The bride, a nurse tech at Akron Children’s Hospital, is a senior at Youngstown State University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing. The groom earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration/accounting at YSU and is pursuing a master’s in business administration at Kent State University. He is an assistant auditor III with the Auditor of the State of Ohio in Cleveland.
