Murder charges filed in fatal fire

GREEVILLE, Pa. — A 42-year-old man was arrested today and charged with setting a fatal fire from 2005 at the O.C. Hotel and Cantina on Hadley Road. Pennsylvania State Police in Mercer County said Michael Watson, no address given, is charged with murder in the second degree, burglary, criminal trespass, arson, recklessly endangering another person, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Police said the charges are related to the Aug. 16, 2005, fire where the body of James Hall, 48, was found inside the hotel. It was later determined Hall died of smoke inhalation. While investigating the fire, police discovered that the building had been burglarized and a safe containing $1,300 in cash and $100 worth of rolled quarters was missing. Watson was arraigned this morning before District Magistrate Lorinda Hinch and is being held without bond in the Mercer County Jail.
