BOSTON RED SOX—Purchased the contract of OF Bobby Kielty from Pawtucket (IL). Optioned OF Jacoby Ellsbury to Pawtucket. Agreed to terms with SS Ryan Dent, SS William Middlebrooks, 1B Anthony Rizzo, OF David Mailman, RHP Austin Bailey and LHP Drake Britton and assigned them to the Red Sox (GCL).

CHICAGO WHITE SOX—Agreed to terms with OF Jermaine Dye on a two-year contract extension through 2009.

KANSAS CITY ROYALS—Agreed to terms with SS Mike Moustakas and assigned him to Idaho Falls (Pioneer).

LOS ANGELES ANGELS—Optioned RHP Greg Jones to Salt Lake (PCL). Recalled RHP Marc Gwyn from Salt Lake.
