Zebels celebrate 60th anniversary at dinner party

XYOUNGSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Walter Zebel of Youngstown were honored on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary during a family dinner party Aug. 18 at Johnny’s in Boardman.

The former Helen Shirostan and Mr. Zebel were united in marriage Aug. 19, 1947, in Regensburg, Germany, and came to the United States in 1949.

Their family includes Katherine Zebel of Youngstown, Mary Zebel of Youngstown and the Very Rev. John and Anne Haluszczak of Pittsburgh, and three grandchildren, Kira, Nathan and Lara Haluszczak.

Mr. Zebel retired in 1984 from the Briar Hill Works of Youngstown Sheet and Tube/LTV Steel. Mrs. Zebel is a homemaker and gardener.

The couple are members of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
