Reception held at Legion post for Sostaric 50th

XYOUNGSTOWN — The American Legion Post in Hudson was the setting Aug. 18 for dinner reception held in observance of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Herm Sostaric, 3837 Elmwood Ave.

Hosts for the celebration were the couple’s children, Patty Polko of Columbus, Christine Gallagher of Newton, N.J., Joe Sostaric of Cincinnati, Pam Marshall of Youngstown, Jennifer Porsko of Chicago and John Sostaric of Boardman. Completing the family circle are eight grandchildren.

United in marriage Aug. 24, 1957, at St. Columba Cathedral, Mr. and Mrs. Sostaric are members of St. Rose Church in Girard.

Mrs. Sostaric, the former Barbara Howard, retired in 1997 as a teacher with Youngstown Board of Education. She is a member of Catholic Collegiate.

Mr. Sostaric served as a corporal with the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Korea. He was an administrator with Youngstown Board of Education before retiring in 1985.

Also honored at the event were Mrs. Sostaric’s sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Conroy of Middleburg Heights, on the occasion of their 50th jubilee.
