Police probe report of woman being held

BOARDMAN — Township police are investigating an early Saturday episode that landed three people in the Mahoning County jail.

Sgt. Ray Polombi said officers were called to a home in the 5000 block of Tippecanoe Road home at 5 a.m. after someone reported a woman being held against her will there.

Officers who arrived at the home, he said, could tell someone was inside — but no one would respond to them.

The Mahoning Valley Crisis Response Team was called to the house. Officers, upon entering the home, found two people in an upstairs bedroom. A third person was in the driveway.

The episode ended without incident. But two people are being held in the county jail on outstanding warrants, police said, while a third is being held pending an investigation. Further details were not available from police Saturday night.
