Offensive/defensive Formations: Multiple Wing-T offense/5-2 defense

Outlook: The good news is, Mathews has 10 starters back on both sides of the ball. The bad news is, the Mustangs jump to Division V, resulting a more difficult path to the playoffs. Lucas Buckner enters his fourth season as starting quarterback, while running back Brad Hughes (who led the team in rushing the past two seasons), Brent Jackson (a starter last season) and FB Eric Ocheltree (a four year starter, including two at center) solidify the backfield. Tackle Carmen Lamancusa, a four-year starter who was hampered by injury last fall, solidifies both the offense and defensive lines. The Mustangs should be considered one of the favorites for the ESC title.
